How to use biosafety cabinet fumigation

Biological safety cabinet is very familiar with conventional equipment for the scientific research and experiment personnel, but the use of maintenance, The thorough fumigation under certain conditions is not necessarily well understood, due to various reasons, Most laboratory biosafety cabinets have not been required to be maintained for years, and some have even been used in abnormal conditions. This poses a hidden danger to laboratory biosafety, especially in some special situations, such as the need to replace the exhaust filter after 3 to 5 years, the safety cabinet failure needs to be opened before maintenance, biological safety cabinet is seriously contaminated When the need for thorough fumigation.
Commonly used fumigation with disinfectants, including formaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide, chlorine dioxide, although the cost of formaldehyde is the lowest cost, its carcinogenic effect has become increasingly restricted, and people who have been fumigated by formaldehyde have a headache. Because the entire safety cabinet to be closed with plastic sheeting, calculate the amount of disinfectant needed, the layout of biological indicators, neutralizing disinfectants, wait a long ten hours, etc., most worried about the leakage of formaldehyde or biological challenge experiments Success or failure and other security issues.
Now there is a new way to completely replace the traditional formaldehyde fumigation, which uses hydrogen peroxide vapor to sterilize biological safety cabinets, the generator is usually connected to the main cabin through a jet interface, some models of biosafety cabinets provide this interface, at the same time a door sealing plate in front of the operating port to seal. If both are not available, a temporary door seal can be used and a suitable connection interface has been pre-installed, it’s installed in front of the operation port and the hydrogen peroxide vapor is sprayed into the biosafety cabinet through the interface on the door seal.
The steam circuit is usually connected to the rear of the biological safety cabinet exhaust strainer, and of course, the exact connection type and location depends on the type of biosafety cabinet with the disinfection. When replacing the filter or maintaining the safety cabinet, the connection pushes the hydrogen peroxide vapor through the exhaust filter of the safety cabinet and sterilizes it thoroughly.
